Black Snow Day

The snow always looks so pretty when it's fresh.  Until they come out.  They come out and muddy it all, they make all the snow black.  Damn them.

Anyhow, it's another snowy day in Baltimore, another day that D gets the day off.  Teachers.  Damn them.

I heard a John Mayer song that I hadn't heard before; Daughters.  It made me cry.  The chorus says:

Fathers be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters too

I'm such a crybaby, I swear I am.  I listened to the song and suddenly I'm deep in frilly girl's clothes and taking a peek at D playing with his daughters.  Watching as they grow into women.  It's only irony that I haven't had the chance to partake in womanhood's greatest task.  I've become a lover, not yet a mother.

Damn them.

Love your new journal!!!

I hate the black snow too. I don't get to see much snow where I live, but I've always thought that it was most beautiful just after it has fallen.

I love John Mayer...I've been listening to him for years, thanks to my oldest daughter. And that is a beautiful song.

love the new journal!!

Isa ~

I confess, I'm sad you won't be on AOL anymore. But I'll gladly visit you here. This is actually really nice.

'Daughters' is such a great song. I actually bought the CD. It touches my heart too, hun. So don't worry...you're not the only cry baby. LOL

Love you,
Bridgett
